"Maddy thank you for being you! I learnt so much from you when I first started and you always asked me how I was doing. You had this energy that lit up the day when things were down. Your comments addressed to yourself on work orders cracked me up every time, your endless memes and your humor in tense situations made work fun. You taught me to enjoy time away from work and I enjoyed our conversations on how the world sucks. You practiced what you preached by taking care of others, biking to work, setting up event to volunteer and being there for your community. I hope to have even a fraction of your compassion and love for your friend and family. You weren't afraid to stand up for what was right even when it was unpopular and I really respected that. You touched a lot more lives than you know. I wish we could've spent more time but we'll meet again one day. Thank you for all your hard work to make space travel a reality. I'm forever grateful for our time and getting to know you. I'm going to miss my cowboy hat buddy."

"Madison, you were my coffee buddy, my lunch buddy, my Office jokes buddy, my ping pong buddy, my meme buddy, and much more. Work won't be the same every day without the "GOOD MORNING VIETNAM"'s we exchanged on Teams every morning or the 1 million crumpled-up sticky notes you threw at my desk every day. No matter how tough times got at work you were always able t bring up the morale of the entire team with one of your goofy jokes or your masterpiece memes (that sometimes you took way too long to make), or by walking around with a magnet on a stick touching everything in sight (including my pencil holder which you would knock to the ground every time). You were definitely the biggest goofball, but you were also a really good friend and really good person. On top of being a kick-ass engineer, you were always looking for ways to help others and get involved with the community. You wanted to help the world to be a better place and did whatever you could to contribute to it, with both your actions and your willingness to talk about the big issues. While we all wish we had more time with you, the memories and the impact you had at SpaceX and in the community will be remembered forever. Thanks for all the laughs - I miss you already, but I hope you are surrounded by cronuts and no-foam mochas."

"Maddy, you were always the first person in SpaceX history to sign a test plan, T1 or otherwise, with the word "yeet". It wasn't enough to do the thing, you had do it with every ounce of enthusiasm in your body, and when there was still too much left over, everyone would hear about it in the form of a good old fashioned "YEET". You brought that energy, that spark, to everything you did, and that energy ALWAYS brought the rest of us up with you. It was actually impossible to be working on something with you and not feel your excitement for the project ourselves. Even if the work was as mundane as dispo'ing a PT issue ticket on an upper injector housing or signing a photo collection test plan for a fuel ring. You never let us forget how awesome what we do here is, and your passion for everything you did was beautifully contagious. May your friends always remember your spark, and may the world see the fire it started."

"MadDawg: (Mad Doggy DAWG!) I still can't believe you managed to sell those old rusty threaded metal rods on classifieds. We collected all the spare change when cleaning desks and you graciously took it as payment for all of the support I asked of you. You borrowed my phone for photos, and always returned it with an absolutely horrendous close-up selfie. I watched your locks grow into the beautiful lion's mane it became. We barked and woofed and weee-ooo'd at each other from our desks. I have your old, crusty, sun-dried cowboy had that has taken the place of the sombrero on my lamp. We took a long walk on your last day at Wilkie together, and we talked of meeting at Whistler this winter to ride the PNW together. I will still make the trip up, and I'll ride the entire day in your honor. Thanks for always sharing your perspective that pushed us all to become better people. Miss you dude - keep spreading your charisma up there."

"Thank you Madison for being my friend, my colleague, and my teacher of all things Injector over the past year and a half. I find myself repeating the lessons you taught me everyday. I've never met such a positive person who cared so much for everyone, even those you've never met. The team could always count on you for positivity and dank memes (especially the week you discovered the "remove background" button on powerpoint). The amount of whacky phrases you had at your disposal always had me laughing. You were the one person who never failed to wear a fun shirt on Friday and I think that may describe the person you are. By far my fondest memory is "Ben Drives Form" photo of us celebrating the good fuel ring gap (or so we thought). I'll see to it that this injector represents all the hard work and sacrifice you put into this product and into SpaceX's vision. I'll miss the daily coffee runs, Injector bad gaps mental breakdowns, talks of nature/hikes/climbing, the jokes, and most of all I'll miss you man. Love ya man, rest easy."

"Madison, it goes without saying that you will be missed. One of my first memories of you was how optimistic you were going into a grueling eight-week production sprint. Most of the team was disappointed with the news, but you described to everyone that we have an awesome opportunity to contribute to the SpaceX mission. You could always find the positives in the most difficult situations. Thank you for everything Mad Dawg. I have so many great memories with you and the Wilkie team that I will cherish forever. A few specific memories of note - Forcing me to smell the grind out putty mold and trying to convince me it's the same stuff that dentists use on teeth - Asking to borrow my bike pump multiples times per week - Your passionate interest in making the world a better place for everyone else. I'm going to really miss you, man."

"Over the past year and a half I knew Madison, I think we managed to disagree on nearly everything at one point or another. We would have heated arguments about almost anything, whether it be a certain political view or an issue ticket rationale; I'm sure we both went home some nights and thought "what a idiot". But never fail, the following morning he would come rolling into the office managing to hit my chair 3 times with his bike, proceed to as precariously as possible perch it on a pelican case behind Bree's desk and say "GOOD MORNING!!!" and subsequently ask "You want to go grab coffee?" as if nothing had ever happened. It's something I truly admired about his personality, regardless of how heated of an argument we had or whatever differences of opinion existed between us, it didn't matter to him. All that mattered is that we were friends and he would never let the small things change that. This quality in him helped me grow as a person and I will forever be grateful. Rest easy Madison and know that I look forward to catching up one day down the road. Love you man."

Maddy, we are lucky to have so many beautiful memories of you that we can cherish forever.
You were friendly and welcoming to everyone. Whenever someone new came to our work area and asked about how the injector worked, you would stop what you were doing, walk over to the cross-sectional display and give an informative presentation. It didn't matter if you were busy, stressed, or not in the mood- you always gave it your 100%- sharing your knowledge and fun facts with incredible enthusiasm. I wouldn't be surprised if people left as injector enthusiasts after meeting you.
You were passionate about making the world a better place. One day it was rallying your team and friends to send postcards and encourage people to vote. The next day it was collecting warm gear to donate to homeless people in the winter. The latest was urging us to call our representatives for environmental and health issues. You inspired me and taught me that our actions really CAN make a difference in the lives of others, and for that, I will be forever grateful.
I miss your positivity, your laugh, the nose whistles, and of course, your priceless memes. Thank you for teaching us all how to be better engineers, friends, and overall human beings.

Dear Adriana,
Thank you so much for your heartfelt and lovely note. Maddy's ceaseless energy and enthusiasm for helping people in the office is so him and so lovely to read about. Were you on Maddy's team? And for how long?
It's unsurprising to me to hear the way he was getting people involved in citizenry. He was so active about and passionate about this (obviously). I know he's inspired so many to be more like him in this way. And it breaks my heart everyday, but I know he had such a big impact on so many people, and it's so meaningful to hear about the direct ways he did this at work. I'm grateful that you are grateful, too.
Thank you again. If you ever want to share any additional anecdotes, general feelings, pictures, memes Maddy shared with you etc, I (and I know many other people) would absolutely love to see/hear them. And they will be cherished forever.
Sending big love from Berlin,
Hanna
